Throughout my life I have always wanted to be self-employed and be able to help people do things that the cannot necessarily do themselves. Now I hope to capitalize on the skills I've gained over the years and be able to help people accomplish things for a fraction of the cost that they would pay companies and consultants to do.
After attending high school in San Diego at the Academy of Our Lady of Peace, I went to community college at Grossmont College in El Cajon. I spent three years at Grossmont and then transferred to The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. where I received a Bachelors of Arts in Political Communications in their school of Media and Public Affairs. While in College I also completed YAF's National Journalism Center Program, a 3-month intensive journalism program.
I started working young, babysitting for family and friends and Ebay-ing for my mom at as young as 10. After high school I started working for the Department of Defense as a summer hire for the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) SW. I left NAVFAC in the fall of 2010, and began doing Protocol for Commander, Naval Air Forces (CNAF). As Assistant Protocol Officer I planned and organized events for Vice Admiral Myers from conferences and receptions to dinner parties. I remained at CNAF until I left for D.C. in the fall of 2013.
While in community college I started a blog and Twitter account called RepubGrlProbs. At the end of 2015 I turned that Twitter account and blog into a corporation and hired 20+ people to join me in monetizing the project. After college I was hired to work for Tusk Digital where I did digital media for Carly Fiorina's presidential campaign. On her digital team I made graphics, videos and helped with advertising and social media. I left Tusk to pursue my own thing in the summer of 2016.
While in San Diego I was fortunate to have internships for former Congressman Brian Bilbray and former Mayor of La Mesa, Art Madrid. In D.C. I also interned for Congress in the office of Congressman Blake Farenthold and was a journalist for Red Alert Politics through YAF's National Journalism Center Program.
Aside from my writing and communication skills I have developed many other skills throughout my life. Over the years I have gained administrative expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and other organizational skills necessary to work in an administrative environment.
I have also gained professional experience in Adobe products such as Photoshop, Premiere, Audition, After Effects, and InDesign. I am comfortable with email clients such as Mail Chimp, comfortable with basic HTML coding, and have designed both my own website and RGP.
